Many internet users have lately reported that they received a message from the Internet Crime Complaint Center telling them that their computer has been found to be used for illegal activities. It is not real and is just a virus. It is a variant of the FBI Moneypak virus. The virus asks them for $300 as a fine for their crime and locks their computer so they cannot open any windows application. Have you also got a similar sounding message and now cannot open anything on your computer? This virus is not detected by popular antivirus solutions like Norton and McAfee.

Even starting your computer in safe mode and then running virus scan shows nothing. This has caused many people to think that the message is genuine and they pay the hacker the money. This virus is called a ransomware and it works by disabling all other applications on your computer. The first application that it deactivates is the antivirus on your computer. Please do not pay any kind of money. Many users have reported that their computers were still infected even after they paid the money.
The Internet Crime Complaint Center virus is part of the FBI virus and claims to represent the FBI. It scares users into thinking that they had committed some crime. The hackers also try to scare them by claiming that the user will be arrested if they do not pay the fine of 300 dollars. The hackers who have created this virus have also created many similar viruses. At least a dozen different variations of these viruses have been reported by users from many different countries. The viruses are in English to make sure that they are more effective and can trick more users. It is a new virus and most antivirus fail to remove it or even detect it.
This virus keeps showing a warning message that tells the user that they used their computer for illegal activities and have broken various local and international laws. This message cannot be closed and not another window on the computer can be opened. The user is unable to do any work on the system and is not even able to login to the internet to search for a solution. The virus demands a fine of $500 from the user. It even tells users that they will be arrested if they do not pay this fine. The virus keeps displaying the message that the computer will only unlock after the fine has been paid but even if you pay the fine, the virus will keep the system locked
It is very complicated to remove the Internet Crime Complaint Center virus. The virus disables all applications and antivirus on the computer.
